Summary:
The night sky now is reflecting the change of seasons with the Spring Constellations taking center stage. In addition, a telescope clinic will begin at 7PM. All Ages Welcome
Detailed Description:

The ancients used to keep track of the seasons by watching the night sky.  In seeing Leo the Lion, Virgo the Virgin and Bootes the Herdsman (pictured above) become dominate, they knew that the earth was awakening to a new spring.  We will discuss these constellations and view Jupiter which is still prominate in its march across the sky. A 9-day old Moon will allow us to see some new features in its moonscape.  Come join in on our exploration of the springtime in the night sky.

If you have a telescope gathering dust in a closet because you don’t know how to use it, please bring it along and meet our experts at 7 pm for pointers. The regular program starts at 8:30 pm, with an early instructional time at 8 pm.

All Ages Welcome - Registration Required!

What to bring:  The New Pond Farm observatory has a heated classroom building, but please dress warmly for the outdoors and bring a flashlight as the walk to the observatory is dark. If you have them, lawn chairs and binoculars are welcome too.  Participates may be able to take photographs through the telescopes with their smartphones.
