Summary:
Come view the Transit of Venus across the Sun safely through our telescope with a special filter. Next viewing will be in 105 years. So see it now! All Ages Welcome
Detailed Description:

This is the big one, folks. If you want to see Venus move across the face of the Sun, this is your chance. It won't happen again until December 11, 2117.

"First contact" begins at about 6:04 PM EDT, and we'll keep watching until the Sun goes down below the roof of CVS. (The transit continues after sunset here on the East Coast, so we'll miss the deepest part of the transit and when the planet leaves the face of the Sun ["egress"].)

IMPORTANT: We have a solar filter for our telescope that will allow us to view the transit safely.

What to Bring: A sense of wonder, a healthy respect for the Sun's brightness, and insect repellant.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOOK AT THE SUN YOURSELF UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PROPER EQUIPMENT.

SUNGLASSES ARE NOT PROPER EQUIPMENT.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, LOOKING AT THE SUN CAN CAUSE BLINDNESS
