Director

The Discovery Center is staffed by our part time executive director, Noelle Carr. Noelle is an artist educator and her favorite aspect of her job with The Discovery Center is teaching kids at programs. "I am a firm believer that what we experience and learn about as children influences what we will care about and understand as adults," said Ms. Carr. "DIscovery Center programs allow children, adults, and families to explore and learn about nature, art, history, and science.  It is a truly unique organization and I am happy to help The Discovery Center achieve its mission of offering fun, educational, and affordable programs to residents of Ridgefield and surrounding communities."

Noelle is also an artist and art historian whose paintings have been featured in many area exhibitions and in the book “Ridgefield at 300: A Celebratory Year in Pictures.” She has worked in museums and galleries, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York and PaceWildenstein Gallery. With Noelle as Director, The Discovery Center has expanded its curriculum to include art programs in addition to its strong calendar of nature, astronomy, science and history programs.
